NAMI Family Support Groups:
NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances. Walk-ins welcome no registration required.

FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP – Albany NY

FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP – Cairo  NY
Second Saturday of the  month Time: 11am-12 noon Greene County Emergency Services Building 25 Volunteer Drive, Cairo NY, 12413

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a recovery support group for adults living with mental illness. People learn from each others experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. Groups are confidential, open, and free of charge. Walk-ins welcome no registration required.

  • Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that may have environmental triggers
  • Understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events
  • Aim for better coping skills
  • Find strength in sharing experiences
  • Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination
  • Not judge anyone’s pain
  • Forgive ourselves and reject guilt
  • Embrace humor as healthy
  • Accept that we cannot solve every problem
  • Work for a better future in a realistic way
